Abstract

This report documents my internship experience at Wonderflow from July to December 2024. As a Data Science and Society student with a strong interest in Natural Language Processing (NLP), this internship provided a valuable opportunity to explore and apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges and contribute to impactful projects. My internship involved a wide range of NLP tasks, including data preprocessing and cleaning to handle noisy and unstructured text data, feature engineering to extract relevant information for improved model performance, and the development and evaluation of various NLP models. I also gained experience in designing and implementing efficient and scalable data processing pipelines. Throughout the internship, I encountered several challenges, such as optimizing model performance while maintaining efficiency, addressing data quality issues, and ensuring seamless integration of deployed models into existing systems. Furthermore, the rapid and evolving nature of the NLP field posed a constant challenge, requiring continuous effort to keep up with the newest innovations in the sector. I successfully overcame these challenges through a combination of research, experimentation, and collaboration with my team. I am grateful for the guidance and support provided by my supervisor Mouna Kacimi, and the entire team at Wonderflow Data Science team. This internship has significantly enhanced my understanding of NLP and its applications, and I am confident that the skills and knowledge I gained will be invaluable in my future projects.
