Abstract
This report details my internship at the European Policy Centre (CEP) in Belgrade, Serbia, where I contributed to research on governance and EU enlargement policies in the Western Balkans. My primary task was to draft a policy brief on the challenges foreign nationals face in obtaining visas, residence, and work permits in Serbia. Additionally, I supported CEP researchers through briefings, proofreading, and participation in conferences, expanding my professional network. Overall, the internship reinforced the connection between my academic background in Global Responsibility and Leadership (GRL) and real-world policy making. Specifically, this experience improved my teamwork and leadership skills, as well as allowing me to integrate GRL’s research approaches and key theoretical concepts within the workplace. Having completed my internship and reflected upon it through this report, I feel prepared for future academic and professional pursuits in public policy and international governance.
