Abstract

This thesis delves into the realm of promoting non-smoking behavior within university environments, with a particular focus on the University of Groningen. By investigating six interventions and their effectiveness on students and staff, valuable insights are gained to identify best practices for implementation. Drawing on the focus theory of normative conduct, the research offers practical recommendations for university practitioners, policymakers, and educators to foster a culture of non-smoking behavior. Extending the findings to broader contexts, this study contributes to the collective effort to discourage smoking and promote healthier behaviors across diverse settings.
