Abstract

In these times defined by a complex geopolitical landscape and constant unprecedented global challenges, the importance of international relations has never been as crucial. Comprehending these rapidly emerging crises and challenges requires an understanding beyond the textbook. I decided to complete an internship at a foreign embassy to try and bridge the gap between theory and practice by seeing firsthand the real-world implications of diplomatic decisions, policies and relations. With this internship report, I present my internship organisation, the Estonian Embassy in Singapore, and the experiences and insights I gained throughout my work there. Over the course of three months of working on a full-time basis, I had the privilege of working alongside an experienced team of dedicated professionals who have become an important part of my academic and personal path.
