Abstract
In this research I study how professionals in the tourism industry in Leeuwarden consider the impacts of (sustainable) tourism on residents in the city. Utilising a qualitative discourse analysis I found there is much consideration for the positive impacts of tourism, particularly the economic benefits. Currently, tourism is developed in collaboration with stakeholders, particularly entrepreneurs, however not all residents might know how to voice their views on tourism towards policymakers.
