Abstract
This thesis is a multiple threat analysis relating to the Sámi reindeer herding community in Idre, Sweden. The analyzed threats are forestry, tourism, legal issues, and climate change. Using social impact assessment these threats were assessed and mitigation efforts were discussed accordingly. Additionally, mitigation proposals are offered. A multitude of these proposals are based on Sámi environmental knowledge, Sámi cosmology and values. The legitimation for these proposals is extensively researched and, besides the threat analysis, the other cornerstone of this thesis.
